Heart to Heart, February 2010 Connections

A new member has joined the HOIC/SCE Board of Directors. Kevin Peterson, who farms near Gilbert, was elected to a three-year term.

“I’m honored for this opportunity,” says Peterson. “I know I have a lot to learn, but I’m excited about the cooperative’s future and hope to contribute to the efforts the Board. I’m looking forward to getting input from our members and working with the talented staff at Heart of Iowa Cooperative.”

Terry Leonard from Colfax was re-elected to his second three-year term.

HOIC members cast Board of Director election ballots before the Annual Meetings held January 19 and 20. Ballots were counted during the January 20 meeting held in Sully. Candidates received word of the results shortly after the meeting.

Peterson replaces Kevin Baldus from Roland who served 15 years on the HOIC Board of Directors. Board President Bob Finch expressed appreciation for the number of years Baldus gave to HOIC.

“Kevin did a great job for your cooperative,” says Finch. “We sincerely appreciate all the hard work he’s done over the past 15 years.”
