Nevada site of Post-Harvest Marketing Meeting on Aug. 29
Nevada, Iowa ― Farmers having a plan is one of the most important ingredients for marketing corn and soybeans profitably. That plan can create both a purpose and accountability to market grain in a more timely fashion.
Famers will learn to use to develop a marketing plan, identify signals and practice strategies to price their 2017 corn and soybeans using a marketing simulation activity. A marketing meeting will take place at the ISU Story County Extension office in Nevada on Tuesday, Aug. 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Participants will be able to:
- Write and execute their own post-harvest marketing plans
- Develop post-harvest exit strategies
- Learn about carrying charges, the impact of basis and making storage decisions
- Practice exit strategies and tools in a fun marketing simulation.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at the ISU Story County Extension office located at 220 H Avenue in Nevada. The session will last until 9:30 p.m. and handouts and refreshments will be provided. Phone pre-registration is required by Friday, Aug. 25 to assure adequate meeting space is available. There is no registration fee.
The Story County Farm Bureau, ISU Story County Extension and Key Co-op will serve as meeting sponsors.
