QUESTION OF THE DAY: What does late-season nitrogen
application mean to your operation?
This month, CENTROL Precision Ag received new data
released by the 360 Yield Center owned by Gregg Sauder,
former owner and founder of Precision Planting, which
offered some remarkable results.
360 Yield Center has developed a line of innovative
products to help growers increase yield year round, ranging
from nitrogen testing and nitrogen application to residue
management products. These products allow growers to be
more sustainable and give them the flexibility to increase
yield as the growing season changes.
The summary from 360 Yield Center supports the need
for late-season nitrogen application, and more specifically,
the benefits of Y-Drop over other application methods.
Y-Drop is a unit designed to work with existing high-clearance
sprayers. The unit was designed for growers to do
late-season nitrogen application all the way up to tassel. Y-Drop
bands UAN along each side
of the corn plant at the base,
allowing the corn plant to take
in the UAN with very little
moisture. Since Y-Drop doesn’t
come in contact with the ground, it allows the grower to cover
more ground and more diverse terrain.
Talk to your local Key agronomist about the benefits
of late-season nitrogen application and visit with your local
CENTROL Precision Ag specialist about the 360 Yield
Center product portfolio and what can work in your operation.
