Key Cooperative Gives Back

Key Cooperative promises to be your essential business partner and with this promise, comes our commitment to enhancing the long-term success of our member-owners. Part of this success comes from being positive stewards in our communities. We believe that encouraging and supporting our employees to be involved with community efforts is not only vital to our future, it’s just the right thing to do. To help local 501c3 charities accomplish their goals, we have teamed up with the Land O’Lakes Foundation in support of the Member Co-op Match Program. Causes supported are divided into two categories: by hunger and non-hunger initiatives. In 2016, Key Cooperative awarded over $13,000 to eligible programs matched by the Land O’Lakes Foundation!

PCSA Bear Creek Range

2017 BGM High School graduate, Lizzy Worthington, orchestrated construction of a four-field trap range in Poweshiek County, with an estimated value of $100,000 for her Girl Scout Gold Award. The project spanned over 18 months, $50,000 in cash and in-kind donations, in addition to acquiring 5 acres of land for the range. The range is to be used by the public and area high school teams. This summer Key Cooperative presented PCSA Bear Creek Range with $1,000 to support the development of the range.

Mid Iowa Community Action – Story County

In September, Key Cooperative presented MICA with a $2,500 matching grant to support their food efforts. MICA serves children and families affected by the conditions of poverty all over central Iowa. MICA will use the grant funding to purchase items needed for their community food pantry
