Propane Contracting Season is Here!

Key Cooperative has access to the best propane rates during the summer months which is why we lock in propane for your winter heating season now!
- If you are on a fixed or prepay contract, you will be receiving your contract within days so watch your mailbox!
- Budget bill contracts will be coming out in September.
- We encourage you to review your contract and contact us as soon as possible if you wish to modify your contract.
- Please let us know of any changes to your propane usage in the past year. For example: addition to your home, added a swimming pool, updated your appliances or using a generator.
- If you have updated your furnace or water heater, please contact us so we can provide you with rebate paperwork. Rebates are $200-300 and are available through Iowa Propane Gas Association.
Key Cooperative offers three propane contract options:
Pre-Paid Fixed Price Plan - This rate requires full payment at the time of contracting. This contract locks in the committed gallons at a fixed price per gallon for propane delivered through the winter (October 1, 2022 – March 31, 2023). Your prepay amount will include your tank rental, tax and any credit balance from the previous year. Since you are pre-paying, this plan gives you a $0.05 discount.
Fixed Price Plan - This option does not require any pre-payment. You will be billed for delivered gallons at the contracted price, plus tax. This contract locks in the committed gallons at a fixed price per gallon for propane delivered through the winter (October 1, 2022 – March 31, 2023).
Monthly Budget Bill - This option spreads your contract out into level monthly payments. You will receive a monthly statement with your budget payment amount and your price and gallons are protected for the entire billing period. Your budget billing amount will include your tank rental and any credit balance from the previous year. We will review your usage over the winter and re-balance your monthly amount so you keep your payments level. (Billing period October 1, 2022 – September 30, 2023).
