We’re about to enter into calving season the next few months and with calving, also brings questionable weather, which can result in health challenges. Your focus turns to keeping calves hydrated, making sure they receive sufficient colostrum within 6 to 12 hours and making sure cows and first-calf heifers have good body condition. All of these become key to getting through this metabolically demanding time.

Cows and first-calf heifers being properly supplemented and vaccinated will pay dividends to a calf which is why we’re introducing a new product called Stabilize Calf Drench. This liquid liquid molasses based supplement is fortified with vitamins, chelated minerals, prebiotics, omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, yeast cultures and essential oils to bolster the calf's immune system all while providing energy in the most critical 24 hours of the calf's life. This is an oral drench product so no needles are required!

Did you know, 60 percent of calf deaths are due to scours? The Stabilize Calf Drench approaches this problem from many angles to help keep calves healthy and on track. This product will not replace colostrum or vaccines but rather enhances the effectiveness of both.

Product Tips & Tricks:
  • This product replaces Multi-Min and Chelated selenium (Bo-Se) and no needles are being used.
  • Key livestock specialists can carry this product with them anytime. It’s also stocked at our locations in Grinnell and Barnes City in gallon and half gallon form (128 calves/64 calves.) (We sell syringes with the oral tubes as well.)
  • Typically we recommend pouring the product into a container and cleaning the syringe after each use to prevent contamination.
  • This product is considered “cheap insurance” - it's a great way to put a lot of good into a calf during a challenging time. ($1.50/calf per dose for a gallon and $1.60/calf/dose for half gallon)
  • A great time to use this product is when you’re ear tagging the calf. Try to use within 24 hours. Some customers go out 3-5 days later and use a second dose.
