Co-op Month has been a nationally recognized celebration since 1964, when U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Orville Freeman, proclaimed October as Co-op MonthOn June 19, 2024, the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the International Year of Cooperatives under the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World."
