Over the years, Purina® Animal Nutrition has invested time and resources into their Sheep and Goat feed portfolio to help make your flock more efficient and profitable. They have conducted an increasing number of studies on small ruminants and reproduction. The key to healthy lambs is giving them a great start. This means that it’s beneficial to lambs to provide their mama with balanced nutrition prior to and during lambing season. There are several key nutritional components in maintaining the body condition of ewes and aiding reproductive efficiency.

The Purina Wind and Rain® Sheep Mineral is formulated with our patented Wind and Rain technology to reduce clumping. It also contains Availa® zinc and manganese to support hoof health and reproductive advantages.

Purina Accuration® Sheep and Goat Hi-Fat Blocks are weather resistant protein blocks with added fat to help balance nutrients, especially when dealing with fair to poor quality forages. These blocks provide an extra amount of high-level fat through proprietary extruded fat nuggets that are easily digested and metabolized by the ewes in your flock. Therefore, increasing the butterfat from mama will help get the baby lambs off to a quicker start nutritionally. These high-fat blocks are also great to feed when transferring your ewes over to pasture and small grass traps later in the spring.

A premium, all-in-one ewe and creep feed is Purina’s Delta Lamb and Ewe DX30. It provides high-quality, palatable ingredients by optimizing milk production in ewes and early feed intakes in the lambs. Delta Lamb and Ewe also contains Deccox® to help control coccidiosis.

Key Cooperative offers a full lineup of these products plus Sheep Balancers to utilize with Land O’Lakes Milk Replacers and other grain. Contact our feed specialists to get started!
